The Conservation Agriculture Regional Working Group (CARWG), with support from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources Policy Analysis Network (FANRPAN), the African Conservation Tillage Network (ACT) and the African Union Partnership for Africa’s Development agency (NEPAD), hosted a successful and well attended Symposium on Conservation Agriculture (CA) in Johannesburg, South Africa on 8-10 February 2011. Over 130 participants representing regional governments, farmers’ unions, NGOs, Research Institutions and Universities discussed various aspects of the science and practice of CA through oral and poster presentations.
